*Cancelled* MCD Design Lab Happy Hour: Aplat Zero Waste

February 7, 2020 @ 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

**This MCD Design Lab has been cancelled. Check out our upcoming events at sfmcd.org/events**

Designer Shujan Bertrand started culinary design company Aplat with zero waste as a core design principle that is maintained to this day. Aplat products embrace a more sustainable future, crafted to conserve and replenish limited resources by using them more wisely and efficiently. Shujan aims to influence the textile industry towards more environmentally responsible practices, paving the way to zero waste manufacturing through smarter design principles.

Join MCD to learn more about the creative process behind this thoughtful, local company, and to create a banner crafted from cast-off production material! Participants will design, sew and then decorate their work of art with an array of embellishments. Also, learn to layout and carve a unique rubber stamp from scratch, using block printing techniques to fashion your own fabric pattern.

PLUS shop Aplat designs– perfect for supporting your most sustainable Valentine’s Day yet!

Light snacks and happy hour beverages provided.
