*Postponed* MCD Members Trip to OSLO & Copenhagen

June 21, 2020 - June 30, 2020

As a trusted public institution, the Museum of Craft and Design is committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our museum visitors and staff both in our museum and during our trips. With the growing public health concerns surrounding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have decided to postpone our member trip to Oslo and Copenhagen until 2021. We appreciate your understanding. If you have questions or would like additional information please contact membership@sfmcd.org.

Join us on the Museum of Craft and Design’s next international adventure to Oslo and Copenhagen! Experience an incomparable art and design itinerary curated by expert guide, Arthur Duncan.

June 21–30, 2020*
Couples $9,150/person | Singles $9,295
*Optional add-on: three nights in Stockholm, Sweden, June 30–July 3

Our journey begins in Oslo, Norway with four nights at the elegantly designed The Thief hotel and a welcome dinner on the Thief Roof Bar, with stunning views of the Holmenkollen hills. We will explore Oslo through behind-the-scenes studio visits and gallery tours including Synne Bull and Dragan Miletic of Bull.Miletic – a pair of visual artists, operating at the intersection of art and new technologies, whose work will be featured in MCD’s upcoming exhibition, Proxistant Vision, in 2021. We’ll travel just outside the city for a special curatorial tour of the new, highly anticipated Kistefos Museum and Sculpture Park, a true architectural gem spanning the Ranselve River. Additional tours will include the Myntgata studio collective and many more.

Next, we set sail to Copenhagen, Denmark with an overnight on the award-winning DFDS Ferry. Our downtown accommodations position us near the Tivoli Gardens in the modern and luxurious Nobis Hotel Copenhagen, a beautiful structure from 1903 formerly housing the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music. Special tours will include the home of Danish designers Jacob and Tine Gubi, of internationally acclaimed Gubi Design. Additional outings will include the Charlottenborg Palace and Etage Projects – an edgy space specializing in cross-aesthetic contemporary craft and design. Enjoy lunch in the garden of the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art’s private collection, visit the renowned Bruun-Rasmussen auction house and more.

*NEW! OPTIONAL ADD-ON: extend your stay for three nights in Stockholm, Sweden (June 30–July 3, 2020) with deluxe accommodations at the stunning Nobis Hotel Stockholm.
