MCD Design Lab: Material Alchemy with Ramekon O’Arwisters

October 27, 2018 @ 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

On the Saturday before All Hallows eve, join the Museum of Craft and Design to immerse yourself in the magical moment between the seen and the unseen!

Inspired by the materials and methods of Raw Design, local artist Ramekon O’Arwisters will lead participants in a dynamic art-making experience that will transform your perceptions of the creative process through a hands on exploration of unexpected materials and the unconscious. Jump out of the literal realm and open yourself up to the alchemy of intuition in order to reveal your own unique creative vision! Participants will leave with new connections, altered perspectives and a sculptural crochet take-away.

Ramekon O’Arwisters is a social practice artist represented by the Patricia Sweetow Gallery in San Francisco. He is the founder of Crochet Jam and has held several Artist in Residence positions including Recology and the de Young, as well as enjoyed a professional career (now retired) as a curator of photography at the SFO museum.

Workshop, materials, exhibition access and light refreshments included. All ages welcome.

Space is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
