Design Week: A Roadmap to Stardust – Design, Mythology, and the Future

June 8 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Museum of Craft and Design

Make the Museum of Craft and Design part of your SF Design Week Experience!

Join artist John Roloff and the Museum of Craft and Design’s Curatorial Director Ariel Zaccheo to explore the power of speculative dreaming. This participatory discussion draws inspiration from MCD’s current exhibition A Roadmap to Stardust, an immersive exhibition featuring the work of John Roloff and Neil Forrest that explores the history of humankind as told through ceramics, mythology, and fictional archaeologies. It invites participants to question how our present moment will be remembered thousands of years from now.

– Will the stories and technologies of our time become the stuff of legend?
– What role does mythology play in our modern understanding of the past?
– And perhaps most pressingly, how can history inform our ideas of the future?

Pre-registration is encouraged.

This event is part of SF Design Week. Purchase your OnePass to register for this program, as well as a host of events and workshops across the city from June 2nd to June 10th, 2025.
