MAKE: Material Domestication and Wanxin Zhang: The Long Journey
May 16, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM
On the third Thursday of each month, collaborate with artists and makers, explore unique themes and re-think materials through creative design projects.
This month, join the fun for a MAKE dedicated to both of the current exhibitions, “Wanxin Zhang: The Long Journey” and “Material Domestication.” Take a more complex dive into processes of repetition and reuse with a fiber workshop led by San Francisco based artist/designer/entrepreneur and teacher at Spark Studio, Carrie Leeb. Recreate Jamie Bardsley’s intricate process in Sculpey clay to create a desktop mandala puzzle and bring new dimensions to personal storytelling with figure drawing by local artist, Pickles, and 3D self portraiture inspired by the work of Wanxin Zhang.
