MakeArt Accessible: Access After Hours

July 26, 2023 @ 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Museum of Caft and Design

Spend your night at the museum! The Museum of Craft and Design has partnered with the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired to bring after-hours art-making, haptic experiences, and art exploration to the galleries.

Access After Hours is designed specially for the blind and visually impaired community. Visual descriptions, touch tours, and hands-on art projects forge multisensory connections to our current exhibitions—Fight and Flight: Crafting a Bay Area Life and Concrete Journals: Anne Hicks Siberell.

Fight and Flight explores what it means to make art in the Bay Area by highlighting the versatile practices of 23 artists, all of whom have been “creatively nurtured” here. Concrete Journals is a collection of tactile snapshots- concrete-encased objects that tell stories, provoke memories, and foster connections.

MakeArt Accessible:

MCD is dedicated to making our space and programs more accessible. If youre interested in getting involved, please get in touch with Marie Deininger at mdeininger@sfmcd.org | 415-773-0303 extension 310.

Pre-registration encouraged.
This event is open to the Blind and Visually Impaired Community.
