Mobile MakeArt: LightHouse for the Blind
March 18 @ 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The Museum of Craft and Design partners with the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired to facilitate monthly art projects reflective of MCD’s current exhibitions.
Inspired by the fantastic fibers of Ruglife, get hands on with hand crochet! Learn to crochet with just your hands and material – no hook needed. This tactile, large-scale form of crochet is accessible for those who are blind or have low vision and produces soft and chunky fabrics perfect for blankets. Bring your own wool roving, or practice using the provided materials.
March 18, 2025, 11:00: AM–1:00 PM at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired
1155 Market St, 10th floor, San Francisco, CA 94103
This project has been developed in collaboration with the Lighthouse community. Thank you for sharing your insight and expertise to make weaving more accessible to Blind and Low Vision paticipants.
This program is designed specially for the blind and visually impaired community. We welcome you to the LightHouse even if you are not currently involved with the organization. Please reach out to MCD Programs Manager Marie Deininger or LightHouse Adult Programs Coordinator Maia Scott for more information.
