WeavingxCoding: Lecture & Workshop

Museum of Craft and Design

Join the artists of WeavingxCoding Studio for a hybrid lecture and workshop at the Museum of Craft and Design! Led by multimedia artists Renta Gaui and Francesca Rodriguez Sawaya, this workshop will explore how craft technologies can be used to engage with communal memory and social justice. The session will bring Ruglife artworks into conversation with global craft traditions, highlighting craftspeople working on the cutting edge of textile design and fabrication. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own coded designs and small tapestry weavings through the use of coding software created by Gaui and Sawaya.

The workshop will run from 2pm to 3:30pm.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is highly encouraged.

Tickets: $25 Non-members, $20 Students/Seniors, $15 Members, $15 Museums for All EBT Holders

Price includes admission to the museum and materials necessary for the workshop.
