Wonderous Weaving at West Portal Open House

April 26 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

San Francisco Public Library West Portal Branch

The West Portal Branch’s Open House connects community and library – bringing people into the shared space, collaborating with local organizations, and getting the neighborhood excited about reading.

MCD is excited to partner with West Portal to creatively activate the space. Wondrous Weaving is a project inspired by the fantastic fibers in our recent exhibition, RugLife. Archaeological evidence suggests weaving was universally known to all major human civilizations. Weaving remains a major method for textile production, both as an art form and in the commercial industry. Try your hand at this traditional, time-honored technique and take home a loom of your own!

Get creative in person before picking up a free take home a FREE MakeArt Kit and museum admission!
