rattan

The response of Livable, spearheaded by Sep Verboom a research and design platform to the United Nation’s Global Call out to Creative initiative recalls through its form the hoop skirt of the nineteenth century. This iteration of the body-guarding garment sets parameters for recommended social distancing, as did its predecessor along with wide-brimmed hats. The rattan is a familiar material with domestic connotations, in line with the United Nation’s design brief, that entries should be friendly in aspect.
