Petticoat Dress, 2020

Inspired by the ballgown of the Victorian Era for the woman’s version, and the traditional Highland kilt for the male style, these easily foldable garments—with their spring steel wire frame, made from the material of popup tents—are easily washable and come with their own carrying case. The international design collective aimed for a relaxed means to avoid the anti-social messages that required distancing often communicate. They created six-foot diameter skirts to maintain safe perimeters, even when cooling off in a pool.
