MakeArt Lab: Sense of Place with Emily Endo

April 30, 2022 @ 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Museum of Craft and Design

Join olfactory artist Emily Endo for an immersive Living with Scents workshop exploring MCD’s Dogpatch neighborhood! This full-day intensive class will guide students through introductory perfume construction techniques, fragrance material families, and explore how to capture the scent of materials through tinctures. Participants will leave with their own Dogpatch-inspired fragrance, sample blends,  and a personalized tincture made in class.

You will not want to miss this unique opportunity to dive into the process of crafting unexpected fragrances!

Students are encouraged to bring a small object or material inspired by San Francisco to tincture in class. Recommended materials include: dried plants, cloth, paper, bark, wood, cigarettes, etc.

Please note: Objects will be destroyed during the process. Dry materials work best (ex. Dried leaves, dried herbs, dried food).

Recommended for ages 12+ | One-hour lunch break with light refreshments provided
