MCD Library Fridays: Mission Bay Branch

September 15 @ 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Mission Bay Branch Library

MCD’s Library Fridays brings hands-on creativity to branches across San Francisco! Join us at Mission Bay Branch Library as we chemically create constellations! This project is inspired by the creative practice of local artist Ala Ebtekar. Ebtekar uses a faux-cyanotype process to create an ever-changing collection of tiles. This expanse is evocative of the night sky and the domed interior of prayer halls.

Become a Library Fridays regular! Connect creatively as you make exhibition-inspired art and pick up a FREE museum ticket and take-home art project. Make art with us 3 times to earn a FREE family membership to the museum.

Funding for the Museum of Craft and Design’s MakeArt programs is provided by the special interest license plate featuring the image of Snoopy, with permission and support from Peanuts Worldwide (Section 5169 of the Vehicle Code) for the Museum Grant Program under the California Cultural and Historical Endowment. Additional support for MakeArt is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
The views, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in MCD’s programs do not necessarily represent those of the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
