*Canceled* MCD MAKE: April
April 16, 2020 @ 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM
All March and April events both in the museum and offsite have been canceled. We will evaluate future programming, as well as a reopening date beyond March 31 and keep you informed via email, social media, and our website.
On the third Thursday of each month, collaborate with artists and makers, explore unique themes and re-think materials through creative design projects.
This April, interact with hands-on projects, materials and concepts that celebrate Earth Day and support current MCD exhibition Linda Gass: and then this happened…. From climate change to community and creativity– there will be something for everyone to explore.
Try your hand at “going green” with a series of DIY projects designed to help you towards zero-waste goals. Learn to make beeswax food wraps, collect cleaning supply recipes and decorate reusable product containers. Local artist Eva Walter joins the evening to show you how to upcycle your junk mail into useful art objects and our neighbors from Pier 70 swing by to share their innovative approach to designing for sea-level change.
PLUS Linda Gass will be in her exhibition to speak with visitors about the themes and processes found in her work.
