MAKE after hours art class at Museum of Craft and Design

MAKE

June 21, 2018 @ 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Celebrate PRIDE at MAKE!

On the third Thursday of each month, collaborate with artists and makers, explore unique themes and re-think materials through creative design projects.

We kick off this month’s festivities at 6:00 PM with our Artist Happy Hour and book signing featuring the brand new art book, “Hate is What we Need.” In this clothbound, hardcover volume, acclaimed artist Ward Schumaker transforms the egregious utterances of the 45th president of the United States of America into provocative text-based paintings. Hear from Ward about the creation of the book and then explore his unique stenciling technique by replicating the process on your own canvas tote. Come early to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and MAKE hate into love!

Then, slip into party animal mode by creating a “bronze” animal ear headband inspired by the work in “Judy Kensley McKie: Cast of Characters.” Craft your own tulle tutu and design a freak flag to sport in the parade, bling out a coozie for your can of rosé and celebrate the first night of summer with craft ice cream from Little Spoon Creamery and photo ops with Props2C under the parklet stars.
