Evan Snyderman, curator, scholar, and co-founder of R & Company, a leading New York design gallery, will explore the renewed relevance of American studio craft in today’s material culture. Grace Londono, Head of Artist Relations, will then lead a walkthrough revealing the techniques, materials, and lore behind the works on view. About the Exhibition
Experience the evolving lineage of American craft. This expansive survey across generations invites us to reflect on what we make, what we value, and how both have shifted over time.

Organized by the Smithsonian, the original 1969 OBJECTS: USA established the American studio craft movement as a new force in the global cultural conversation. More than fifty years later, OBJECTS: USA feels freshly charged. This new iteration at MCD traces that lasting impact on some of the leading makers working in the U.S. today.

Evan Snyderman is the co-founder and creative director of R & Company, the dynamic New York design gallery devoted to nurturing and sustaining the careers of both emerging and established designers. His nearly three decades of work have been instrumental in reintroducing major historical designers to audiences and championing the new generation of designers.
