MakeArt Workshop: Polymer Clay Art Jewelry
November 20 @ 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Wunderkammer: The Collection of Susan Beech features 90 contemporary art jewelry pieces from Susan Beech’s personal collection. As opposed to those donated to the Renwick Gallery and the Museum of Arts and Design, the pieces featured in Wunderkammer are ones Susan has chosen to keep and wear herself, offering a deeply personal perspective on the relationship between jewelry and identity.
This MakeArt Workshop is a chance to create your own jewelry using polymer clay – a highly haptic medium. Enjoy the sensory exploration of the clay and use it to create from a tactile vantage point. Turn shaped sculptures into necklaces, earrings, or keychains, and let your wearable art speak for itself as you display it with pride.
This event is inclusive and intended to be accessible to people with diverse abilities. Designed in partnership with the Lighthouse for the Blind, this event may be especially inviting to the Blind and Low Vision community.
Registration is required. If you have questions, concerns, or access needs, please contact us at makeart@sfmcd.org.
