MakeArt Drop-In Workshop at Museum of Craft and Design for
“Sunday Streets” Thumbs Up!

Activity suitable for all ages.
Create artwork using your fingerprints as the primary design element. Finish with markers and paints and take your masterpiece home to showcase to your family and friends.
Family Day at Museum of Craft and Design: Felted Flower Bowls

Roll up your sleeves for an afternoon exploring the granddaddy of wool
felting techniques: wet felting! We’ll show you how to suds and sculpt your
way to a floral-inspired bowl, just in time for spring. Work independently or
collaborate in this family-friendly activity. All ages welcome.

Tour Chris Eckert: Mechanical Parables exhibition and get inspired to craft your own Victorian style regalia. We will make brooches, buckles, and bracelets.

 

MakeArt Workshop at the Potrero Public Library: Illustrate a poem

For children ages 8-12, children 6-7 welcome when accompanied by adult.
Create an original work of art based on a poem by an African-American poet. There will be multiple poems to choose from and we will have them in printed and recorded form.

Celebrate Chinese New Year by creating a noisemaker to protect against wicked spirits. Fun for parents too!

 

 

MakeArt Workshop at Museum of Craft and Design: Polymer Clay
Bowls, Buttons & Beads

Free to members/$10 for non-members.
For children ages 8-12, children 6-7 welcome when accompanied by adult.
In anticipation of the upcoming exhibition, Data Clay, join us in the MakeArt Lab to design a few pieces of your own with a similar material. Using colorful, versatile polymer clay, you can build small bowls, or create buttons and beads to wear. This durable materials hardens when baked.
